One of the inteersting things about gold lip mother of pearl, is that it shows different colours and nature's patterns when viewed from slightly different angles to the light. The golden amber colour is evident in these photos.
The black line points to the open joint between the blade and the back spring
when the knife is in the open position. The line is virtually imperceptible!
Note also how the mother of pearl scales are lined with a black material,
and undercut into the bolsters. Wonderful workmanship.
